Radiator Painting Services
Different radiator types need different approaches. We use only heat-resistant finishes rated for surface temperatures above 60 degrees Celsius.
Cast Iron Radiators
Original cast iron radiators in Victorian and Edwardian properties are worth preserving. We remove loose paint, flat back to stable layer, and apply heat-resistant enamel. The finish holds through repeated heating cycles.
Steel Panel Radiators
Modern steel panel radiators can be repainted as part of a room refresh. White radiators in darker schemes can be changed to complementary tones using specialist radiator paint rated for heat.
Column Radiators
Column radiators have more surface area than flat panels. Reaching into column gaps requires a narrow brush and patient technique. We coat inner column faces properly, not just the outer surface.
Heat-Resistant Paint
The correct product for radiators is a heat-resistant enamel rated for surface temperatures above 60 degrees Celsius. Standard emulsions and gloss paints discolour and peel when the heating comes on.

Here’s How It Works
Our proven process ensures radiators stay in perfect condition through every heating season.

Turn Off and Cool
The radiator must be fully cold before preparation or painting starts. Hot surfaces dry paint too fast and cause problems. We confirm the radiator has been off for at least 24 hours before beginning.
Surface Preparation
Loose and flaking paint is removed with a flat-bladed tool and abrasive paper. The surface is wiped clean to remove grease and dust. Bare metal sections get a rust-inhibiting primer.
Masking and Paint Application
Valve bodies, pipe connections, and surrounding surfaces are masked. Heat-resistant enamel is applied in thin, even coats. Two coats are standard with drying time between each.
Cure Time
The radiator is left off for the drying period specified by the product. Heating is turned back on gradually. Full hardness is reached after several heating cycles.
