Feature Wall Painting Services
We offer specialist feature wall painting across all finishes and styles.
Bold Colour Walls
A bold colour feature wall creates a focal point without repainting the whole room. Colour choice and execution both matter.
We prepare the feature wall thoroughly before any colour goes on, ensuring full coverage in two coats.
Textured Finishes
Textured feature walls in natural tones are increasingly popular in living rooms and bedrooms. We apply specialist textured paints using the correct technique for each product.
The result is consistent texture with no build-up at the edges or lap marks across the surface.
Alcoves and Chimney Breasts
Alcoves and chimney breasts create natural feature wall zones. Painting these in a complementary colour draws the eye and makes the room feel intentionally designed.
We cut in by hand rather than using tape alone on internal corners.
Wallpaper Feature Walls
Some clients prefer a wallpaper feature wall rather than a painted finish. We hang wallpaper on feature walls as part of our decorating project.
For the full wallpaper process, see our wallpapering page.
Mixed Approaches
A mixed approach is one of the most common requests we receive. The feature wall is wallpapered and the remaining walls are painted in a complementary tone.
We plan both elements in one visit.

Here’s How It Works
1. Planning the focal point
We identify the natural focal wall before any work starts. In open-plan spaces this is typically the wall first visible on entry.
2. Surface preparation
The feature wall is filled, sanded, and primed. On dark or saturated colours, a tinted primer reduces the finish coat count.
3. Edge definition
Clean lines at the ceiling, skirting, and side returns are established before rolling the main field. Internal corners are cut in by hand.
4. Colour application
The main field is rolled in consistent passes, maintaining a wet edge. Second coat follows after full drying time.
5. Final inspection
We check the feature wall against the flanking walls in good light. Edge lines, coverage, and any roller marks are corrected before leaving.
Feature Wall Painting Costs in Ipswich
Prices below are estimates only. Every feature wall is different. Call 01473 974699 for a precise quote.

Wall size
A feature wall in a Martlesham Heath open-plan kitchen-diner is larger than one in a Kesgrave semi. More area means more time and material.
Colour depth
Very dark or saturated colours need more primer and more coats for full, even coverage. We factor this into the quote.
Surface preparation
Rough plaster, repaired joints, or heavy old colour all add preparation time before the feature colour can go on.
Open-plan living area
Martlesham Heath (approx 12 sq m): £280 to £420, including preparation and two coats.
Bedroom feature wall
Kesgrave 1990s semi (approx 8 sq m): £180 to £280, preparation and two coats.
